Alfdex earns recognition as recipient of John Deere Supplier Innovation Award
Alfdex, a joint venture between the Swedish corporations Haldex and Alfa Laval, has earned recognition as a recipient of Deere & Company’s Supplier Innovation Award for 2009. The company received the award in recognition of their excellence in product innovation. Mats Ekeroth, managing director of Alfdex, received the recognition during a ceremony held on February 16, 2010 in Bettendorf, Iowa, USA.
Haldex is a major supplier of the Alfdex separator technology to John Deere’s operation in Waterloo, Iowa. The technology comprises a method for separating oil and particulate matter from the crankcase ventilation gases of diesel engines.
This is the inaugural year for the John Deere award, with the aim of promoting supplier innovation. Suppliers were encouraged to share their innovation stories through self-nomination. All submittals were evaluated on the basis of creativity, feasibility, collaboration and bottom-line impact.
Mats Ekeroth says:
“Alfdex is firmly established as the world’s leading supplier of highly efficient solutions for cleaning of crankcase gas on trucks and buses. Several of the world’s leading truck and engine brands have selected the Alfdex system, including Volvo, Renault, Mack, Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Western Star, Sterling Trucks and Navistar. We consider this an important award, because it demonstrates that there is interest in our product from what, to us, is a completely new segment – the agricultural industry.”
