Air board created for the Northland Career Center

30 August 2016

In addition to their work responsibilities, the maintenance team at the Haldex Marion, NC facility has been busy building an air board. This will be donated to the Northland Career Center Diesel Technology Program operated through the Platte County R-3 school district in Kansas City, MO. This year the program has 36 students enrolled from 7 school districts representing 12 high schools and one education center.

The two year program offered to Junior's interest in Diesel Technology emphasizes employability and is run as a work based learning center where the student is expected to clock in, dress in uniform and man their respective work center. Each student has specific duties related to the diesel shop and rotates through the shop to learn all the functions.

The program provides entry level skills and knowledge in all phases of diesel equipment repair, preventative maintenance, personnel and shop management, parts work for transportation, construction, mobile and stationary diesel equipment applications.
