Haldex divests the aluminum die cast operation in USA An agreement has been signed by which the aluminum die cast operation within Haldex Brake Systems division is divested as per January 1, 2000. The die cast operation encompasses a production unit in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA, with 124 employees and yearly sales of 115 MSEK, of which 60 MSEK to external customers. The divestiture is made at a price slightly over book value and affects the Group's current results only marginally. The divested operation was part of Midland-Grau, which was acquired by Haldex in April 1998. With this transaction, the two product areas (draw bars and aluminum die casts) which were identified as non-strategic at the time of the Midland- Grau acquisition, have been sold. The divestitures, which together have resulted in a capital gain of approx. 10 MSEK, reduce the yearly sales of the Brake Systems division with 100 MSEK. Haldex is a global supplier of proprietary products for trucks, cars and industrial vehicles, with special emphasis on performance & safety.
