What is SUMS by Haldex?

SUMS (Software Update Management System) by Haldex is a secure platform designed to manage software updates for trailer braking systems, ensuring full compliance with UN regulations R155 and R156. Built to meet ISO 24089 standards, the system documents every update’s purpose, impact, and validation process, offering traceability and protection against cybersecurity threats. 

With SUMS, manufacturers decide when and how updates are applied. Whether it's a single trailer or an entire fleet, each software release, developed and provided by Haldex, is subject to manufacturer approval before deployment. Updates are securely installed and documented, ensuring full regulatory compliance and peace of mind.

But SUMS doesn’t stop there. The platform is evolving to support:

  • Device tracking
  • Centralised data management
  • Document uploads, such as end-of-line test reports
And while manufacturers may choose other certified SUMS platforms, all Haldex software updates, including EB+ 4.0 and ABS 4.0, are exclusively available through Haldex SUMS, and require DIAG++ version 3 software or later.
