Mechanical load sensing valve
The Load Sensing Valve (L.S.V.) is used to automatically adjust the brake pressure, and therefore the braking force, according to the vehicle's load. The automatic load sensing valve is mandatory for tractors with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tonnes and for semi-trailers with a total permissible axle load of more than 7.5 tonnes when the vehicle is first registered after 1 January 1963. EC regulations (RKEG 74/132 EWG) and ECE Regulation No. 13 require automatic brake force control for all motor vehicles and trailers with a total weight of more than 3.5 tonnes, provided that brake force control is required.
