Brake Components

It's not a kind of magic. Between the brake pedal and the brakes of the trailers, there are multiple braking system design possibilities.

Even if the Electronic Braking Systems strongly reduce the number of valves in the chassis, and until the air braking system is installed, there will be a need for pneumatic valves. Find here technical descriptions and variants of the most common ones.

Provide clean air to the trailer

Ensure a clean and reliable pneumatic connection between truck and trailer.

Coupling heads provide the pneumatic connection between truck and trailer and are available with or without integrated filters. When the trailer is parked, dummy couplings help keep the connections clean and protected from contamination. For demanding operating conditions, separate line filters provide easier access for inspection and cleaning.

Adapt the brake force according to the axle load

Adjust braking performance according to the actual trailer load.

Different load sensing solutions are available depending on the vehicle design. Light Laden valves allow manual adjustment. Load Sensing Valves adapt braking performance automatically. EB+ 4.0 integrates an electronic load sensing function that reduces installation and setup time.

Haldex EB+ 4.0

Anti-lock function

Prevent wheel lock-up and maintain vehicle control during braking.

Content: ABS 4.0 provides an R13 compliant anti-lock braking solution. EB+ 4.0 also fulfils ABS requirements while offering additional functionalities.

Haldex EB+ 4.0

Stability function

Improve trailer stability in critical driving situations.

EB+ 4.0 includes Roll Over Control functionality and is approved according to R13 requirements.

Speed up the braking signal

Reduce braking response time throughout the pneumatic system.

Relay valves can accelerate the braking signal and increase airflow. EB+ 4.0 improves responsiveness through electronic signal processing.
