EB+ 4.0 - The new EBS generation

EB+ 4.0 is Haldex’s new electronic braking system for trailers, covering a wide range of applications and markets. It features a new design and complies with the latest standards and type approvals. This new EB+ 4.0 trailer brake platform utilises a modular design strategy, where several separate functional modules can be configured into a system with the desired functional scope.

Several variants are available to best match different vehicle configurations and customer requirements, including the standard 2S/2M configuration suitable for three-axle semi-trailers. The EB+ 4.0 boasts a number of new features, including standard integration of the spring (parking) brake control module (SBCV) into the EB+ unit. Depending on the variant, a temporary emergency brake override function with driver dashboard warning is also available, thanks to the addition of an internal pressure sensor. 

For systems requiring enhanced functionality, a premium version with two additional modules is available, offering configurations of up to eight sensors and four modulators (primarily for road trains). A new feature called “Mobiliser” enables the trailer to be locked remotely when connected to the telematics system. It is also worth noting that the system weighs 37% less than the EB+ Gen3.
